Spain's Valenciaport processed 2.8 million TEUs in the first half of 2025, up 3.84 per cent year on year, reported Dubai's Maritime Gateway.
On a full-year basis, the port handled 5.58 million TEU, marking an 8.33 per cent increase. Import/export traffic rose steadily, offsetting a 1.75 per cent decline in transshipment volumes over the past six months.
The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) posted consolidated earnings of EUR28.99 million (US$33.54 million) for 2024, up 25.37 per cent from the previous year. Net turnover rose 6.7 per cent to EUR150.73 million.
Operating expenses fell 1.51 per cent to EUR51.23 million, while personnel costs rose 13.25 per cent due to workforce expansion and collective agreements. Staff numbers increased from 467 to 488.
Last month, Fundacion Valenciaport concluded its role in the Digital Twin for Green Shipping (DT4GS) project, part of APV's broader push for sustainable logistics innovation.
