G6 announces raft of changes as it introduces 2015's summer schedule

THE G6 Alliance, made up of Hong Kong's OOCL, Singapore's APL, Germany's Hapag-Lloyd, Korea's Hyundai Merchant Marine and Japan's MOL and NYK, have announced its Asia-North America summer programme.

The G6 Alliance will resume the CC2, NYE and SCE services starting with the CC2, which will rotate through Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles-Long Beach and back to Ningbo with the first sailing from Ningbo on May 17.

The same with the NYE loop, which rotates through Kaohsiung, Ningbo, Shanghai-Yangshan, Busan, Panama Canal, Manzanillo (Panama), Savannah, New York, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Manzanillo (Panama), Panama Canal, Balboa, Busan and back to Kaohsiung with the first sailing from Kaohsiung on May 31.

May 26 will occasion the first sailing for the SCE loop, which will rotate through Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Shenzhen-Da Chan Bay, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Panama Canal - Manzanillo (Panama), Kingston, Savannah, Charleston, Kingston, Manzanillo (Panama), Panama Canal and back to Xiamen.

There is a service enhancement on the CC1 loop with an additional call at Qingdao with the first sailing from that port on May 17. Thus the new rotation will be Qingdao, Shanghai, Kwangyang, Busan, Los Angeles, Oakland, Busan, Kwangyang and back to Qingdao.

The PA2 service with its focus on Korea and Japan will be adjusted to connect the Korean and Japanese markets with North America.

Thus the new rotation will be Tokyo, Kobe, Busan, Balboa, Panama Canal, Manzanillo (Panama), Miami, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, New York, Norfolk, Manzanillo (Panama), Panama Canal, Balboa, Los Angeles, Oakland and back to Tokyo with the first from Tokyo on May 26.

Current services will be combined and/or suspended. With the resumption of the NYE and SCE, the combined service will be suspended.

The combined service's original rotation was Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Shanghai-Yangshan, Busan, Panama Canal, Manzanillo (Panama), Kingston, Savannah, Charleston, New York, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Kingston, Manzanillo (Panama), Panama Canal, Balboa, Busan and back to Xiamen.

The last sailing will be the Zim Colombo on the 040E from with the sailing on May 21.

CC3 and SE1 services will be withdrawn from the G6 Alliance. APL will continue to operate the CC3 service with US-flagged vessels, independent of the G6 Alliance, said the G6 statement.

The CC3's original rotation was Qingdao, Shanghai, Busan, Yokohama, Los Angeles, Oakland, Yokohama, Busan and back to Qingdao with the last sailing under G6 Alliance will be APL Holland on May 9 from Qingdao.

The SE1's original rotation was Singapore, Shenzhen-Chiwan, Kaohsiung, Los Angeles, Yokohama, Kaohsiung and back to Singapore. It's last sailing will be the APL Florida on May 6.
