FIGURES from the Hong Kong Marine Department show the port handled 1.7 million TEU in July, representing a year-on-year decrease of 9.5 per cent from 1.93 million TEU in July last year.
Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority reported a 13.2pc decrease in container movement in July, having handled 2.6 million TEU compared to 2.9 million TEU in July last year.
Shanghai, the world's busiest box port, posted a 1.7 per cent year-on-year increase in container throughput in July to 3.12 million TEU, according to data from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).
Last month's volumes also rose 1.3 per cent compared to 3.08 million TEU posted in June. In the first seven months of 2015, Shanghai port registered a total throughput of 21.14 million TEU, up four per cent compared to 20.33 million.
