SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 1.4 per cent to US$948 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). Asia-Mediterranean trade increased 1.6 per cent to $895 per TEU. Asia to the US west coast declined 0.3 per cent to $2,068 per FEU while those to the east coast inched up 0.1 per cent to $3,102 per FEU.
