Old Dominion Freight Line says last quarter truck volume holds up well
NORTH CAROLINA trucker Old Dominion Freight Line has reported that less than truckload (LTL) tons per day increased 3.1 per cent year on year mostly because of a seven per cent increase in LTL shipments per day that were slightly offset by a 3.6 per cent decrease in LTL weight per shipment.
For the quarter-to-date period, LTL revenue per hundredweight increased 13.5 per cent as compared to the same period last year.
Said Old Dominion president and CEO Greg Gantt: "Our revenue growth for the first two months of the fourth quarter reflects the ongoing strength of the domestic economy and our ability to win market share. Customer demand continues to be favourable, and we look forward to the opportunity for further growth in 2019."
