CMA CGM launches Midas 2 service linking India, Middle East and West Africa

FRECNH shipping giant, CMA CGM, has launched a second Midas service, connecting India, the Indian Ocean, Middle East and Southern and West Africa reflecting the company's confidence in the continued growth of the Indian and African economies.

The move also follows on from CMA CGM's announcement that it is making a strategic investment in the port of Mundra, The Maritime Standard of Dubai reported.

Midas 2 will offer a 42-day rotation, served by six 2,500 TEU capacity ships that will call at Jebel Ali, Khor Fakkan, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Port Louis, Pointe de Galets and Durban.

Changes have also been made to Midas 1, where two calls in South Africa have been inserted to offer reefer customers fast transits to the Middle East. This service will now be maintained by ten 4,500 TEU capacity ships, each with over 600 reefer plugs.

Loop 1 of Midas will also call at the CT4 Terminal in Mundra, which is now operated by CMA CGM and its Indian partner, Adani Ports.
