THE northern Weihai in Shandong province of China posted a 6.8 per cent increase month on month in cargo throughput to 5.5 million tonnes in April, reports Xinhua.

During this period, its Shidaogang checkpoint cargo throughput reached 1.15 million tonnes, while Longyangang checkpoint moved 525,000 tonnes of cargo.

Weihai posted a year-on-year 12.8 per cent increase in cargo throughput to 20.24 million tonnes in the first four months. Foreign trade cargo throughput reached 2.42 million tonnes and international container volume 70,000 TEU.

Also, Shidaogang cargo throughput reached 3.61 million tonnes and Longyangang cargo throughput reached 2.04 million tonnes.
