Hapag-Lloyd hikes transpacific rate US$400 - $600/FEU September 1
GERMANY's Hapag-Lloyd has announced that it will raise eastbound transpacific rates by US$400 per FEU to the North American west coast and $600 per FEU to the east coast from September 1.
West coast destinations include Vancouver and British Columbia points and will call for a $320 per TEU increase as well as a $400 FEU hike plus a $450 rise per 40-foot high cube containers and $506 for 45-footers.
East coast destinations include Toronto, Montreal, Halifax all-water and all other Canada inland points at $480 more per TEU, $600 more per FEU, as well as a $675 hike per 40-foot high cube and $760 for 45-footers.
The announcement comes a week after Maersk announced rate hikes for September 1 of the same level.
