AIR FRANCE-KLM Cargo has posted a third quarter year-on-year operating loss of EUR102 million (US$128.6 million) from revenues of EUR623 million, which fell 3.6 per cent.
A strike by Air France pilots for over a fortnight last month severely impacted passenger and freighter services at the French flagship carrier.
Its cargo division to reduce freighter capacity during the quarter by seven per cent in July and August, which cut capacity 0.5 per cent.
Demand remained weak, with unit revenue per available tonne kilometre down 2.1 per cent, the airline said.
Air France-KLM Cargo's operating loss in the first nine months of the year came to EUR181 million, an improvement of EUR24 million on the same period last year.
Air France-KLM estimated that the impact of Air France pilot strike resulted in a loss of EUR416 million in revenues and EU330 million in operating profit.
