MAERSK Logistics has been named "Consolidator of the Year" for the fifth year in a row by the Target Corporation at the 2004 Carrier Conference held earlier this month in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The US retailer said the award was presented to Maersk Logistics as it had best accommodated Target Corporation's business objectives and supply chain expectations in 2003.

In addition to the award, four Maersk Logistics representatives were given "All Star" recognition for their outstanding performance on an individual basis.

"It is an honour to be recognised as the `Consolidator of the Year' by a general merchandise giant such as Target Corporation. The `All Star' awards further validate that we have the right people to render the best services," said Anthony Chiarello, president of Maersk Logistics Inc.

"We are very appreciative of these awards that reflect our capabilities as a logistics provider, as well as our consistent performance and desire to grow with Target Corporation."
