Hapag-Lloyd's Baltic Express to call Oslo; 2 weekly calls to Gothenburg

GERMAN shipping line Hapag-Lloyd has announced that it is expanding its feeder network in Scandinavia by adding a port call in Oslo to its Baltic Express Service (BAX) starting from the beginning of June.

The carrier will also offer two weekly departures from Gothenburg and Helsingborg through its existing Sweden Denmark Express (SDX) and Gothenburg Express (GTE) services.

A company statement said the first additional SDX departure from Gothenburg is scheduled for June 9. The port rotation will then be: Gothenburg, Aarhus, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Helsingborg, Gothenburg.

The port rotation of the GTE service remains unchanged: Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Helsingborg, Gothenburg, Bremerhaven.

Earlier on June 4, the BAX service will begin its new port rotation of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Oslo, Muuga/Tallinn, Saint Petersburg, Kotka, Klaipeda, Gdynia and back to Hamburg.

The BAX will then link a total of six ports in Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Russia with the hubs in Hamburg and Bremerhaven, from where it will be connected to the ocean liner's global service network.
