G6 ALLIANCE members have announced changes to their Loop 7 and Loop 4 services between Asia and Europe, which includes a Gdansk call that rivals the 2M Alliance.
The carriers, APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai, MOL, NYK and OOCL, have added a call to Gdansk and dropped a westbound call to Port Said on their Loop 7 service with the June 20 sailing of the Hong Kong Express from Qingdao.
Now Loop 7 will rotate through Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Gdansk, Southampton, Singapore, Shenzhen-Yantian and Qingdao.
Loop 4 will add westbound Port Said call - that was dropped from Loop 7 with the July 3 sailing of the Shanghai Express from Ningbo.
Now Loop 4 will rotate through Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen-Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Le Havre, Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ningbo.
With the call at Poland's big port, G6 is going against 2M Alliance's Gdansk string, operated by its two members, Maersk and the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
