MOL hikes Asia-southern African rate US$200/TEU August 15

JAPANESE shipping giant will increase rates US$200 per TEU and $400 per FEU on cargo from Asia including Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to southern Africa, which includes South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe from August 15.

In a notice to trade, MOL said: "This is to inform that MOL will implement General Rate Restoration (GRR) to all kinds of cargo moving from Asia to southern Africa. This GRR action is essential for us to sustain our service level.

"Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued support and understanding," said the company statement.
