SPOT rates fTuesday, July 16 ,2019or shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday declined by a further 1.7 per cent to US$676 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean rate fell 1.1 per cent to $697 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). The SCFI posted a 0.4 per cent increase in spot rates from Asia to the US west coast to $1,659 per FEU, while for east coast ports, rates increased 3.6 per cent to $2,864 per FEU.
