Los Angeles Airport's July cargo falls 6pc to 190,000 tonnes
LOS ANGELES International Airport registered a six per cent year-on-year decline in air cargo tonnage in July to total 190,000 tons as US-China trade tariffs impacted cargo volumes.
Year to date, air cargo was down 4.3 per cent compared to the first seven months of 2018, falling to 1.3 million tons, according to figures released by the airport's governing authority, reported Los Angeles Business Journal.
The airport's passenger traffic in July rose by 0.4 per cent compared to July 2018 to reach 8.5 million. Year to date, passenger numbers were up 0.8 per cent year on year to 51.5 million.
