MSC levies US$200 bonded transfer fee on entering US December 15
GENEVA's maritime transportation giant Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) will introduce a bonded transfer fee of US$200 on all import cargo destined to United States effective December 15. The charge is levied for any US import shipment in which carrier arranges the in-bond transport under their own bond, for cargo moving via truck to an inland bonded facility, free trade zone or duty-free zone. This fee will be charged per bill of lading and will be payable as "collect" at the port of discharge, and in accordance with the agreement for payment of freight charges.
