SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday edged down 3.6 per cent to US$804 per TEU. Asia-Mediterranean rates fell five per cent to $928 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). Rates from Shanghai to US west coast fell two per cent $1,394/FEU while China-US east coast fell 2.8 per cent drop to $2,640 per FEU.
