Drewry's World Container Index falls to US$2,836/FEU

 THE composite index for container freight rates decreased three per cent to US$2,836 per FEU, marking a 66 per cent year-on-year increase, reports Netherland's Fresh Plaza.

The current Drewry WCI composite index of $2,836 per FEU is double the average 2019 (pre-Covid crisis) rate of $1,420.

The year-to-date average composite index stands at $3,372 per FEU, which is $666 higher than the 10-year average rate of $2,706, influenced by the exceptional Covid period of 2020-2022.
