ONE's first 8,560-TEU magenta box ship deployed on PN2 service
OCEAN Network Express' (ONE) first magenta containership called at China's Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) on May 24. The 8,560-TEU One Commitment, is deployed on the alliance's Asia to North America PN2 service. The vessel started her maiden voyage from Singapore on May 15 and had already called at Laem Chabang, Cai Mep and Kaohsiung. After calling at Yantian the vessel continues her journey to Tacoma and Vancouver. When returning to Asia, the ship will call at the ports of Tokyo, Kobe, Kaohsiung and Singapore, reported The Maritime Executive. The PN2 provides an eastbound service from Southeast Asia, South China, Taiwan to the Pacific Northwest, and a westbound service from Pacific Northwest to Japan, Taiwan and Singapore. ONE launched its first magenta newbuild, the 14,000-TEU ONE Minato, from Imabari Shipbuilding in Japan in April. The alliance commenced operation on April 1, and has 230 vessels with a total capacity of 1.44 million TEU.
